Metastatic Breast Cancer

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Sep 05, 2002 10:14 am

I am in the process of going through my 3rd round of chemotherapy for breast cancer, initial diagnosis 1997. This time it has appeared in my brain, as well as other areas in my body. We are not doing radiation at this time, because I am A-symptomatic, and my Radiology Oncologist feel that I have years to live not months, and whole-brain radiation will cause dementia down the road, and recommends that I wait until I am symptomatic before radiation on the brain.

I have changed my diet drastically to only raw organic fruits, vegetables, low heat cooked grains, soups, etc, only essential fats, Omega 3 and 6, sparingly, extra virgin olive oil, and/or flax seed oil. Fresh carrot juice several times a day. I started this 4 weeks ago. Also, I drink 2 tbls. apple cider vinegar mixed with 2 tsps. unfiltered, raw honey 3 times a day. My question is: Is this too much sugar for me to be consuming since I have cancer?

Dear jrobbins,
While we do check into nutrition and it is of concern, how much sugar is consumed -- cancer or no cancer -- I would like you to check with a nutritionist and or a naturapath about how much is too much. As a Hypnotherapist, our main expertise, is to help you to use your mind -- subconscious and conscious minds -- to your most positive benefit. When dealing with cancer, it is important to suggest to the client (patient) that the blood is no longer feeding the cancer cells. (...tumors are shrinking...)...and, as well, to bolster the immune system. You might like to go to canceronline.org to help formulate an imagery for yourself that you could be imagining while you are receiving medical treatment. As a Hypnotherapist, we always work WITH the medical community...in an integrative way. My very best wishes to you for fast healing.

Dear Hypnotherapist,

Thank you for your response. I don't see myself as a dying person, just that the disease is chronic and needs attention every couple of years. This year I decided that diet would be good in conjuction with the traditional medicines, and that it is helping my good cells combat the cancerous cells, and giving my body the nutients that it has obviously needed. I will contact a nutritionist as you suggested.

I tried the internet address you suggested in your response but it doesn't work for me. Would there be another address for this or would I need to use a different internet brower?

Again, thank you for your reponse and help.

Janet
