isolated systolic hypertension

having recently had a stroke i would like to know if there is any alternative medicine to combat this. i am now taking avapro,provichol,hydrochlorothorizide and asprin.i am execising and have cut out sodium. thanks

You could discuss with your doctor the possibility of trying acupuncture and, if you doctor agrees, getting the name of good local acupuncturist from him/her. Acupuncture can be useful after a stroke, but I cannot say the extent that it may help with the hypertension. It is certainly not a substitute for the meds you are taking now. To get a perspective on potential alternatives, if there are any, you may want to send a question to our naturopath at this channel.
