isolated systolic hypertensionhaving recently had a stroke i would like to know if there is any alternative medicine to combat this. i am now taking avapro, provichol, hydrochlorothorizide and asprin.i am execising and have cut out sodium. thanks
Re: isolated systolic hypertensionYou could discuss with your doctor the possibility of trying acupuncture and, if you doctor agrees, getting the name of good local acupuncturist from him/her. Acupuncture can be useful after a stroke, but I cannot say the extent that it may help with the hypertension. It is certainly not a substitute for the meds you are taking now. To get a perspective on potential alternatives, if there are any, you may want to send a question to our naturopath at this channel.
